Thank you to everyone who made the 2016 Fall Festival a success!
What a wonderful Fall Festival we had downtown this past weekend! Rudy Grahek was presented with a painted portrait of Dynamite the clown painted by former FSU President Vic Spathelf by Vic's son Rick Spathelf prior to the parade. Dynamite the Clown has been in every Ferris Homecoming since 1958. Dynamite is 83 years young!
Szots Bar won the Chili Cook off. Copper Top, Spectrum, Altercare, Schubergs Bar, Crankers, Bob Evans, Blue Cow, Raven [Last years Champion], and FSU Catering all served up some great chili. 5:00 pm start. It only took 1 ½ hours for the large crowd to finish the 50 plus gallons. Bernie from Bernie’s provided bread for event. Ice Mountain provided the Water. Cook off was sponsored by the Schuberg Insurance Agency. The areas oldest name in insurance.
Chris Vallette from the Salvation Army presented trophies for the Pumpkin Roll off.
Mens winner was Andy Bronkima, FSU mens basketball coach
Womens winner was Margo Brown. FSU women’s Basketball player.
Thank you to Gordon Mallett our pumpkin carver and to all of the FSU students who hosted the kids games and to the countless people who provided trunk or treats to the overflowing goblins, ghosts, witches, fairies and a host of hundreds of characters.
It was a special treat to have the FSU Pep band dress in retro Ferris marching band uniforms and lead the parade. What a treat for the kids and parents to be part of a parade with a band!
